Professor Crehan, a lecturer from the department of Arts, Languages and Literary studies at the University of Zambia shared personal insights and reflections of his experiences with academia in the west bank
Professor Stewart Crehan is a renowned academic, activist, and playwright with a distinguished record in Zambian theatre and literature. His work reflects a broad interest with political history, economics, literary traditions, music, and contemporary geopolitical movements.
Earlier in his career, he taught in Jenin at the Arab American University, an experience that exposed him to diverse perspectives and profoundly shaped his outlook on life. He has lectured at the Zambia Open University and currently serves as Professor in the Department of Arts, Languages, and Literary Studies at the University of Zambia.
He contributes to the country’s theatre scene as a playwright, actor, director, and adjudicator, while also enriching scholarly discourse through numerous publications. His intellectual contributions extend beyond Zambia, including a foreword to a volume on Dorothy Wordsworth.
