The event premiered, for the first time, two films produced under the LuCAC Film Club between September and November 2025, alongside Threads, a short film written, directed, and shot by Alex S. This screening represented a rare moment where process, practice, and presentation converged, offering audiences insight into the creative journeys behind the works.
Beyond the films themselves, the screening reflected the core purpose of the LuCAC Film Club: to bring together like-minded individuals who are deeply passionate about filmmaking, regardless of the limitations they face. Working within contexts of minimal equipment, limited resources, and structural challenges, the Film Club provides a space for experimentation, collaboration, and learning, where commitment to storytelling takes precedence over technical perfection.
The Film Club exists to nurture a growing community of filmmakers who believe in the power of cinema as a tool for expression, reflection, and cultural documentation. By encouraging collective growth and peer learning, LuCAC aims to strengthen local film practice and gradually build the capacity to produce high-calibre films rooted in Zambian experiences and perspectives.
